The process...

The process is driven by the client to some degree. However, ideally a series of sittings are required to provide the best likeness, rather than relying purely on photography.

Location can be of paramount importance, as such I am available to travel home and abroad if required, although my studio provides a comfortable and relaxed alternative.

To kick-start the process we hone a brief to encompass style, location, portrait size, attire and what pose the client feels happiest with, then a series of two hour sittings are held backed up with photography.

Once the parameters of the portrait are agreed, a down payment of one third is paid as deposit; the final instalment being paid on completion.

How much will it cost?

There are no hard and fast rules to determine cost as it depends upon the complexity, materials, subject matter and size of the piece.

To ascertain an accurate estimate it is necessary to discuss your requirements in some depth, however, as a starting point a charcoal head and shoulders will start from around £900.00 and an oil painting £2,500.00 upwards.
